Vicki Lord was the hair expert on QVC again last month, and she opted for a daring shade of purple to match her iconic, bold copper bob… Vicki chose matching make-up and came to visit me at Pinkies a day before the filming to ensure her nails looked amazing on camera when she was holding the compact T3 hairdryer. The purple is super sexy, and bold, and stands out beautifully against the white product.
Vicki had a nail injury, so having the bright colour on all other nails took the attention away from the bandage a little.
I wonder what colour nails Vicki will opt for on her next appearance?
Hi guys… you probably have seen the video from the behind the scenes of the Marc Dressen shoot, if not here it is… was so much fun: Video
And here are a couple of photos:
Marc Dressen for Castore and Men’s Health
I had a lot of fun with Darren Brade, Vicki Lord and Jordan Martin at Marc Dressen’s shoot… it was at Jump studio using an infinity curve and rooftop space… I didn’t climb the ladder to the roof top though!!!
I used Airbase on Marc’s face and neck… the neck area had quite a red shaving rash and needed even coverage, and you can see the comparison from the start of the video with after application. I added other concealer under the eyes, and did some contouring – but Marc has very strong features and great bone structure. I added clear mascara, and finally, lots of lip balm to give a natural supple look. I also, for the record had to airbrush Marc’s torso… all in a day’s work.
I have worked with Vicki Lord on a number of projects – her styling hair, and myself doing nails or make-up… She is a good friend and lots of fun to work with. As a local to my Pinkies salon, she visits to get the superstar nail treatment. Vicki was in the salon for the best nail advice and application just before her #QVC debut last week – with close up on nails, it was important that she had them looking shiny and stunning, without them clashing with any of her chosen outfits for the six shows over two days.
Here is a screen shot of the colour and finish… Of course the hairdryer was the star and Vicki the expert – but the nails did look fab without taking the limelight.
It was a great day supporting my colleague and friend Vicki Lord, the UK’s Best Bridal Hairdresser and Balmain Bridal Hair Specialist and the dresses are by Kate Edmondson Bridal Couture: Check out a little video from the show:

March has been a busy month… I’ve had brides, a busy salon, travelled to London for a corporate video working with a crew and actors, and even on my day off, I’m applying make-up… watch this space for some images from today’s shoot and from the photo shoot on March the 7th last week working with Photography Ryan Cox, and today with Samantha Jones… not to mention Amy from the V Team (Vicki Lord, best bridal hairdresser in the UK and good friend of mine).
Thank you to the lovely models too… looking forward to showing everybody these looks and how I achieved them…
Here is a sneaky peak of today’s shoot.
