#Flawless make-up cannot be naked…

When it comes to having flawless foundation, in order for it to not look flat or caked, it is very important that it is blended down the neck and over the jawline… this is why airbrushing foundations are effective, because the airbrush application ensures an even coverage that starts as light and can build up to the desired finish. If you apply foundation and stop there and leaving it ‘naked’, adding no bronze, contouring or blusher, then the finished look can be unnatural, caked or flat.

Foundation is brilliant in that it covers blemishes and evens out skin tone, but it also covers natural colours and can disguise bone structure. It provides a canvas for the makeup to be applied, which means shine, contouring, bronze and blusher.

Here are three fab Christmas Stocking fillers from the beauty world:

From BeautyLish website: supplier1) I trained at the Jemma Kidd school of makeup – and I love this fab Pro Flat Liner Brush, because you can use it for eye liner and eyebrows and of course the colour is pink, which is a bonus… You can grab yours from: BeautyLish

2) Next up would be a lip by Bobbi Brown, another brand I choose and use for brides and clients… and with brighter options readily available, I would add The New Atomic Orange colour as a perfect make-up Christmas surprise.

3) Do add a rosy festive blush to the apples of your cheeks, use the gorgeous Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour – it comes in so many shades and is available from House of Fraser.

I am constantly getting asked by clients and friends what the most important makeup items are, and it really doe sdepend on the person, but these are my recommendations for a quick, gorgeous makeup look every day.

1.Eye gel/cream to hydrate the delicate eye area.
2. False lashes/strip lashes or individual lashes opens up the eyes and then there is no need for mascara.
3. Lip balm to keep your lips hydrated, and looking moist and healthy.
4. Cream blusher is quick and easy to apply, and adds essential colour.
5. BB cream is a great all in one, providing enough coverage to even out skin tone with SPF protection.
